28mm WWII British Vehicles

 All,

Figured I needed to show you all my British WWII vehicles, so here we are.  I painted a fair few of these, most of them actually, but don't hold it against me ;)  Right now they're broken down into vehicles for North Africa and vehicles for late war NWE, though I do have a few early war (Fall of France) and early Western Desert vehicles being painted up and on the way.

My stuff for North Africa.

I painted up three Bren carriers.

And a Humber armored car.

Reverse.

And a Matilda II (those decals on the turret were real bastards!).

Reverse.

And I bought this little bad boy off Ebay.

Reverse.

It came with these Crusaders.

Closeup.

And these M-3 Lees or Grants.

Closeup.

I painted this gun up and based it.

But these came from Ebay (though I did re-base the 25-pdr).

On to Northwest Europe.

Here's my whole mess for D-day to Berlin, most painted by me.

Here are the three things not painted by me.

The Bren carrier came painted, but I had to to up the crewmen and add them.

This scout car came painted.

As did this armored recce vehicle.

I painted up these two Bren carriers.

And all four of these halftracks.  One of the halftracks was bought off Ebay, but then I needed more so I bought some 3D printed models off Ebay and re-painted the painted one to match the 3D printed ones...  I did all of the figures except the driver in the model I bought off Ebay.

The actual model.

And the 3D printed halftrack.  They're not bad, EXCEPT for that dam M2 .50-cal HMG, it's HUGE...

I've got an M-10 Wolverine and an M-5 Stuart.  I wanted an Achilles (with 17-pdr) but I got a great deal ($12 with shipping) on the built but not painted Wolverine, so I threw in a British crew member and painted it up as British (already had an American M-10).

Reverse.

A pair of Churchills.

Reverse.

And a troop of Shermans (with Firefly).

Closeup.

All of these British vehicles in olive drab were done with Contrast paints (dark gray primer with Aggros Dunes over it, then hit all the tracks and weapons with Basilicum Gray then Lead Belcher).

The Firefly.

So, whaddaya think?  Should be good enough to carry me in both those theaters, right?  I wouldn't mind having a Churchill in desert camo for Tunisia and Italy, as well as some Shermans for the desert.  Not sure what I should use for Brits in Sicily, probably Shermans, need to look that up.  In any case, I'm pretty happy and should be set for all the scenarios I plan on doing in the near term.

V/R,
Jack

  2. Excellent collection of British vehicles. Probably the only thing where I can say I actually have more variety than you. Lol

p.s.. That is not a challenge, just play some games instead.

    1. Don’t worry, Shaun, I’m done painting for awhile. I can’t think of anything else I really need that I’m not comfortable with proxying; that is, in terms of scenarios, there’s nothing that a Cromwell can do that a Sherman or Churchill couldn’t stand in for, and I know the Commonwealth liked to use Kangaroos and “de-frocked” Priests as troop carriers, but I don’t mind just using the halftracks. My only regret is getting the Wolverine when I wanted an Achilles…
